Volunteering in a Farm - Community Experience

Ashram literally means “the path of difficulties”. In Italian it can be translated as “place of retreat”.

The Joytinat Ashram is a traditional Ayurveda Ashram, a place surrounded by nature, ideal for relaxing and regenerating.
Led by Master Vaidya Swami Joythimayananda, it is a place specifically conceived for the care of body, mind and soul, it was born as a community with multifaceted functions and was established in the beautiful land of the Marche, in a hilly area called Corinaldo, in the province of Ancona, 18 km from Senigallia.
A retreat at the Joytinat Ashram is a way of feeling “at home”. This seat was conceived by the Master as a "sun" whose core is made up of the highest spiritual and cultural heritage of India.

What the volunteer has to do?

4+ hours per day of the following:

✔ Gardening

✔ Farming

✔ Kitchen Work

Requirements:

✔ Intermediate English 

✔ Over 18 years old

✔ Accepts Solo & Couples

 About the Program:

The Ashram experience is unique, because at every moment of the day you have the opportunity to grow spiritually: this is the 'thread' that unites the different practices, from lessons to Yoga, Ayurveda, Ayurvedic massage, Ayurvedic treatment, meditation, Yogasana practice, service, meals, chanting Mantras, relaxation and social moments in general.
The Ashram welcomes people predisposed to following the spiritual path, suitable for living together within an Ayurvedic community.
Here, you can expect to see a lot of Buddhist customs and traditions, but of course, your religion is respected, accepted and welcomed regardless of what it is.

The host is very understanding and the volunteering experience is very comfortable. Almost all the work here revolves around agriculture and preparation, because this is an Ayurvedic place (Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine that originated in ancient India).
They refer to it here as Karma Yoga instead of volunteering, based on the idea that those who come to volunteer do so with complete passion, without any obligation or sense of ever doing work.

If you're looking for a tranquil place, practicing yoga and meditation, wearing white, indulging in healthy, locally sourced food, connecting with the earth and nature, then this is the right place for you.
In addition, you have the opportunity to get to know Guru Maestro Swami Joythimayananda, an expert in Ayurveda. You can learn about your body type and its health habits, in addition to receiving body massages and oils.

🧑‍🌾 What Exactly Will You do as a Volunteer?

✔ Volunteering primarily involves agriculture.
✔ Assisting in the kitchen.
✔ Helping with firewood (during winter).

The daily working hours are 4, in addition to meals preparation.
There are also 3 hours dedicated to yoga, meditation and mantras.

On your day off, you can explore and participate in activities outside the area.

✈️ Getting to the Ashram:

Arrival is through Ancona Airport, followed by a 15-minute train ride to Senigallia. Afterward, someone will come to pick you up from the station, or alternatively, you can take a bus.

🏠 Accommodation:

• Private rooms or Shared rooms and bathrooms - males in a shared accommodation and females in another shared accommodation.

• Sometimes due to the large number of volunteers, rooms are shared between males and females.

🕊️ Dress Code:

The dress code is full white and light colors.
During volunteering, it's possible to wear non-white attire.

📆 Registration Dates:

Program Availability: All year long

• Days off: 1 day per week.
• Minimum period for volunteering: 2 weeks (Preference is given to those who choose a longer period)

• $550 - HomeAwe Fees.

Regarding registration fees, flight costs and living expenses in Italy, this opportunity is invaluable. A regular tourist trip would undoubtedly cost more. Here, the experiences you will have with HomeAwe are unique. And the daily life is relatively affordable.

📋 Registration Process:

 1. Sign Up through the program's link down below - your details and answers to the questions will be reviewed and based on that, your acceptance will be determined. (It is preferable not to hesitate in providing clear and explicit answers to the questions without any sense of shyness. The clearer, more spontaneous and heartfelt your answers are, the higher the likelihood of your acceptance).

If we do not contact you within 2 weeks, it means that you have not been accepted.
If you are accepted, we will communicate with you via email to arrange the payment of the registration fees to reserve your spot in the program.

2. After you Sign Up, you'll receive an email that has a link to pay the registration fees to HomeAwe.

3. Have a personal interview with HomeAwe for introduction and further explanation of details.
After the interview, your acceptance will be official 100%. If, for some reason, you are not accepted after the interview, the registration fee will be refunded on the same day.
Once you are officially accepted 100%, with or without an interview, there is no refund for the registration fees, even in case of an emergency. The fees will be retained until your participation in another program later on if you cancel your participance a month before at least. if you cancel your participation for any reason as a last minute call during the last month then there is no refund and there will be no spots in other programs later on.

4. You need to Pay 125 Euro to the place in cash when you arrive. It's kind of donation & Support for the community.
