Ski Hostel Trips 🎿

The Point of this trip to break some fears and learn how to ski in one week.

So our daily schedule goes like this:
• Breakfast => Ski (breaks for lunch box) => Dinner => Evening Activity => Sleep => Repeat.

Breakfast ........................... 8:30 - 9:00
Leaving the Hostel ............ 9:15
(sometimes 10:00 - it depends on the energy of the group because skiing for 1 week everyday can be really tiring)
Ski Time ................... until 16:00
(You can rest of course whenever you want and there is a restaurant there that you can chill at, eat and have a drink)
Dinner ............................... 18:30 - 19:00
Evening Activities .............. those activities are really Random - so you are free to join or not to.

The best way is to book a flight ticket to Geneva's Airport and from there you will be picked up.
You can arrive from anywhere you want of course but you need to update us about your route so we can manage to sort out a pick-up for you.

1. Liddes - Vichères: It is only a 5-minute drive away, making it the closest ski resort to our chalet, where a shuttle bus operates daily right outside our door. It is a small but well-regarded resort used by locals, away from the crowds and noise and never crowded with tourists. There are 15 kilometers of slopes and 4 lifts at elevations ranging from 1595 meters to 2267 meters. There are 7 kilometers of easy slopes, 5 kilometers of intermediate and 3 kilometers of advanced, making it an ideal place for beginner to intermediate skiers. It does not have a dedicated learning area, so it is not ideal for beginners, but there is a complete beginner slope less than 10 minutes away so first-timers can practice there before joining others. When it comes to taking a break, having a meal, or heading for a beer or wine after a day on the slopes, the resort has a small bar / restaurant at the top of the main lift and another larger one at the bottom, both with a decent selection and reasonable prices for Switzerland. And of course, let's not forget the beautiful view of the Alps!.

2. La Fouly: It is located just 30 minutes away by car with a view of the Mont Blanc Massif, making it one of the most diverse local ski resorts. It caters to all ages and skill levels, boasting 3 lifts and 20 kilometers of ski trails, as well as additional free routes that can only be conquered with a guide. There are also excellent options for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing in the valley. La Fouly has a ski school for children with an excellent learning area for beginners, who can easily progress from the magic carpet to descending the first blue slope within hours. If you enjoy evening sports, night skiing is available on the lower slope every Wednesday and Saturday from 7:00AM to 9:00PM, where sleds and small snowmobiles can also be rented. For those needing to rent equipment, we have good connections with the owners of the rental shop at the resort entrance, ensuring you get equipment at a good price. The bar and restaurant prices are reasonable and often host DJs during weekends. However, if you're looking for a more budget-friendly meal, there's also a small supermarket next to the rental shop. 

3. Champex Lac: It is located approximately 15-20 minutes away by car near one of the neighboring villages, this ski resort boasts 25 kilometers of ski trails. While there is a decent blue trail, the majority of the red and black slopes are designed for intermediates and advanced skiers. There are also plenty of cross-country skiing trails catering to both classic and skate skiing techniques. As the trails start from an elevation of 2000 meters, the snow is generally reliable and consistent throughout the season. The small lower slope is illuminated every night for adventurous night skiing. This is undoubtedly a must-visit ski resort, offering not only skiing and snowboarding but also ice skating with an ice skating rink, an ice climbing pyramid and walking paths around the lake, all in the immediate surrounding area. When it comes to dining, there are two restaurants, one at the top of the lift and the other at the bottom, in addition to a snack hut next to the nursery slope.

📢 Important Note: This kind of trips are not perfect on timing and on schedule, so you have to adapt to different situations and take it easy,. because you are sharing this week with a community of people.

• Shared rooms and bathrooms - males in a shared accommodation and females in another shared accommodation.
(We try so hard to make that possible)
• Sometimes due to the large number of Guests and Unequal Gender number, rooms are also shared between males and females.
• Bathrooms are shared also between all guests - Males and Females.

     A sandwich that you can make in the morning.
there are also restaurants at the ski resort if you are interested (Extra Money)

     Pastas, traditional Swiss night, barbeque night...

The Meals are decided by the chef - of course if you have any allergies or if you are vegan or a vegetarian it's better to inform us in advance.

People Who Are Physically Strong, Brave and Understand that skiing is not the safest sport in the world. As a beginner after you learn the basic tips you need to practice a lot. In different words; you need to fall down to learn, you need to break the fear of falling to improve.
There are a few levels at the ski locations, you have to start at the beginner slopes and then go higher when you feel more comfortable.
Remember - Without falling you will not learn.
You need to be responsible about your decisions and actions while you are skiing, as mentioned before there is no personal training.
Plus, you need to be a social person, not shy, excited to learn and improve, have good vibes, have a good ability for adapting to different situations, respect others no matter what they believe in, accept and not complain about sharing rooms and bathrooms.

This Trip is not made for people who are used to travel to Fancy 5 Star Hotels with 3 meals included and have their own privacy.. because if yes, then this trip will definitely be so bad for them and they will make it worse for other participants.

The climate in different regions of Switzerland varies. The southern part of Switzerland (Tessin) and also the western part of Switzerland (French part) is mild and Mediterranean while in the mountains it can be freezing cold. In the mountains there is even snow in summer. Switzerland can be mild and warm in summer, but also rainy.

The official currency in Switzerland is Swiss Franc (CHF). Make sure you change currency before you leave your home country or at the airport / train station. You can also pay with EC Maestro Card or Credit Cards in shops, hotels and restaurants. Switzerland is a rather expensive country. EURO are not accepted everywhere and exchange rate is maybe not too good. It’s always helpful to have some cash with you for emergencies.

3. Once we receive the payment from you then we will contact you and arrange a personal meeting with you for introduction and further explanation of details.

1. Once you paid HomeAwe's Registration fees and you're officially accepted 100% by us, with or without an interview, there is no refund for the registration fees, even in case of an emergency. The fees will be retained until your participation in another Program / Trip later on.

2. Once you paid the rest of the fees there is a refund only if you canceled a month before the date of the trip, otherwise the hostel can give you a voucher for the next trip for a different date.

3. If you get hurt through the trip and your medical condition doesn't allow you to ski anymore there is no refund either. you can still enjoy the trip with us, chill, participate in different activities during the week. It's really fun anyway.
